2012 C-Class Coupe Design Leaked!

Mercedes-Benz has been in need of a legitimate C-Class coupe since the introduction of the model line nearly two decades ago.  Mercedes promised enthusiasts a new-for-2012 coupe based on the updated bodywork of it's best selling C sedan.  AutoGuide has snapped up some images that show the undisguised car in all it's mercurial glory, and by the looks of the beast, the finished product is even better than the expectations.  The newly shaped headlamps are elegant and sweep up slightly more than previous C's in line with the updated brand image.  The rear end has CL undertones coupled with a BMW-like dogleg in the C-pillar,  but still distinctive enough to offer the car a clear identity.

Mercedes design of late has been stellar, unleashing one elegant tourer after another, evidenced by the newly redesigned C, E, and the unreleased SLK.  Even the flagship drop-top, the ultra luxurious SL, receives a complete makeover soon.

Barrett-Jackson Sells First Rally Fighter for $100,000

The Rally Fighter, hive-collective designed by Local Motors, sold it's first vehicle for public consumption at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction for a cool $100,000.  The vehicle in question was #1 of 2000 to be produced and was offered as a charity listing for Cox Charities which benefits various children's charities the builder supports.

This seems like a disappointing finish considering the bespoke nature of the infinitely capable (yet street legal) offroader coupled with the fact that there was a stage full of at least a dozen kids present who presumably will benefit from the charitable nature of bidders.  I recall seeing some plain-Jane first-of-a-series cars or custom street rods go for $200,000+.  This seems to be one of the best deals of the auction.

Charlie Sheen Stops Fighting Fate and Buys a Maybach

After having two brand new S-Class Mercedes-Benz sedans stolen from the driveway of his gated community home, Charlie Sheen finally took the karmatic hint from the car gods and decided to go another route for his motoring pleasures.  The star, most famous for his role as the police station junkie in Ferris Buehler's Day Off arrived on the set of some crappy tv show that no one we know of has ever watched Two and a Half Men in a 2011 Maybach.  Sheen reportedly paid over $500,000 for the custom coach.  Not a serious issue when you consider that the star makes nearly $2-million per episode just for being not very funny.

Don't Like Disembodied Voices of French Women in Your Car Ads?

Do you find the disembodied voice of some random French woman slightly disturbing distracting in the previously leaked video of the new SLK?  Have we got something for you, the US version of the video that is, unsurprisingly, a bit more coherent than the Euro version (that must have been filmed by Roman Polanski sometime during his 1960's cinematic heyday).

Drifting In a Mercedes Station Wagon

This is a ridiculously amazing video of a Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG wagon drifting like it was a Asian pocket rocket.  I hope the driver waited to get the groceries until after he finished these stunts.
