2013 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Caught in the Wild

The newest flagship for the world's oldest car brand is set to make it's highly anticipated appearance in 2013 but already spy shots are appearing showing the baby-Maybach motoring around Germany.  Despite wearing a disguise that's more "Prada metrosexual leather jacket" and less "standard plastic body cladding", there are some tantalizing clues to the shape of the new class leader.

The lower front fascia is much more aggressive than the previous iteration as evidenced by the sweeping, angular lines running inboard of the fog lamps, a sharp BMW 7-series style crease runs the upper and side sections of the hood, and the iconic grille expands it's size to battleship proportions.  The design seems to be in keeping with the latest models showing up on dealer floors, that of sharp confident lines, aggressive but in a mature way, not heavy handed like the copies coming out of Korea.
